I greatly value the ability to provide for my wife and children and want more Americans to experience the freedom that work brings. I founded FGA to pursue good policy solutions that will free millions from government dependency and open the doors for them to chase their own American Dream.
Tarren Bragdon is the chief executive officer at the Foundation for Government Accountability, which he founded in 2011 to advance policy solutions that open up the American Dream to millions and advance free market principles. Through mid-2021, FGA has achieved more than 400 state policy reform wins in 30+ states as well as 20 big federal policy reforms. Tarren started FGA with just $50k in seed money. In 2020, FGA raised more than $11 million in donations from individuals and foundations.
Prior to joining FGA, Tarren served as the chief executive officer at the Maine Heritage Policy Center. He also served in the Maine House of Representatives, and remains the youngest person elected to the Maine Legislature, serving from 1996 to 2000. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Maine and a Master of Science of Business from Husson University.
A nationally recognized policy expert, Tarren has testified before Congress, various state legislative committees, and numerous national and international conferences. His work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, the Boston Globe, and The New York Times, and his research has been published with The Heritage Foundation and The Manhattan Institute.
